Photogrammetry is a technology that allows 3D co-ordinated data to be extracted from 2 or more calibrated digital images

Dimensional Control Surveys is an engineering term describing the process that determines the exact sizes of plant items such as pipe systems, plant equipment, structures and plant infrastructure items. This technique uses total station theodolites, calibrated tape measures and other traditional methods

Laser Scanning is an emerging up and coming technology that allows many millions of 3D co-ordinate points to be harveted efficiently and used in the engineering of re-vamp projects

3D model is the 3 dimenional representation of the real world size, shape and absolute location of engineering items displayed within properitey software (PDMS, Microstation, Acad etc) The model allows the engineer to process the data whilst sitting at their office desk.
